The Following Season One Review

So as you can see from the photo, I gave the first season of The Following a 6 out of 10. Before I give my reasoning, let me give a brief summary of the first season. The Following is about Ryan Hardy, played by Kevin Bacon (Apollo 13), trying to catch a murderer named Joe, played by James Purefoy (A Knights Tale). However, there is a twist with Joe. He has a cult of people working for him trying to kill Ryan Hardy, following a book that Joe is writing. So now let me explain why I gave the first season a 6 out of 10.

I was so bored when it shows Ryan Hardy and any other cop in this show. I mainly was interested in the villains in the show. I have to admit, the first couple episodes were pretty fun to watch. That was only because of the crazy stuff that a murderer would do. It was something where it made me question “Are they allowed to show that on FOX?” And then stuff like that didn’t happen very much. Even some of the cult members were pretty annoying, especially at the first half of the season. Without spoiling anything, I was planning to not watch the second season, but how the season finale ended, I decided to give this show one more shot. So hopefully the second season will be better.

The only way they can make season two more interesting for me is by making the story and Ryan Hardy more interesting. The story isn’t bad, it’s kind of creative, but really, it’s still a cop show. The Following has potential of being a really good show, I won’t lie about that. If you haven’t seen it, go find a website to find it like me. You might like it, I was just bored with the good guys.
